I stared blankly at the television, the screen dark and lifeless while a storm of fury brewed deep within me. I couldn’t just understand why Renee had to be so stubborn! We had clearly warned her about staying away from Landon but she turned a deaf ear and dared to plead with us concerning releasing Nerissa from the basement. 

She was just so difficult to help and she needed to be taught a lesson—Something that would make her listen to us.
