Suddenly, the smell of something delicious wafted through the air. I followed the scent with my nose and found Roman in the kitchen cooking something.

I walked over to him, grabbed a spoon and scooped some more batter into my mouth before placing the spoon down and then grabbing another one.

As I continued eating, I heard footsteps coming my way. I turned around and saw that it was my father. He then sat down across from me, grabbed a piece of pancake and placed it on his plate. We both ate silently for a couple of minutes before I spoke.
