"I'm still waiting."

She glanced at me from under her lashes, then quickly turned back to her book. I smirked, amused. She was effortlessly cute, every action, every little twitch. It was almost ridiculously adorable.

A few seconds passed before she lifted her head, but she still wouldn’t look at me. Her eyes remained fixed on the book, and when she swallowed, the sound echoed in the silence of the car. Even in the cold, a faint sheen of moisture glistened on her temple.
