Robert’s POV
The warehouse was silent except for the sound of the wind rattling the broken windows. Lola sat across from me, her arms wrapped around herself for warmth, staring at the dirty concrete floor. The fight between us had drained whatever energy we had left.
I leaned my head back against the rusted metal wall, closing my eyes for a moment. My mind was spinning, searching for any sliver of hope, any way out of this mess.
And then, I remembered.
Sergei.
I sat up suddenly, the realization hitting me like a jolt of electricity.
Lola noticed my shift. “What?” she asked, her voice tired but curious.
