MADELINE'S POV

Silence wrapped around us like a heavy blanket. Alpha Konan collapsed beside me, his bare chest, rising and falling.

I watched him from the corner of my eyes. My body still tingled, my mind still spinning from everything that had just happened, but still hungry with need.

For a while, neither of us spoke. Not that the silence was uncomfortable.

Then, he turned his head to look at me, in a very soft way.

"Did this just happen?" He murmured more to himself. He let out a slow breath. "This is like a dream come true."

I didn't know what to say. A part of me couldn't believe...
