ALPHA KONAN'S POV

Sleep was far from me. Madeline betrayed me, I muttered continuously, unconsciously. I buried myself with work. Morning was here and it was time for alpha Novare and his people to take their leave. I had to see them off because it was only customary I did so. Madeline yet wasn't in sight.

She appeared from the other end of the mansion. My eyes was fixed on her as she made her way to join alpha Novare and the others. Her eyes was fixed on everything except me. She clearly avoided my gaze.

Alpha Novare noticed and whispered to me.
