I sat in my office, my hands clasped tightly together, staring at the floor. The cold air breeze across the room, sharp enough to sting the lungs.. I could still see her face, the dirt on her skin, the blood on her arm, the way her eyes trembled when I carried her in.
She had begged me not to punish the girl. That voice still echoed.
Soft, breaking, and scared, as if I will pill off her skin if she speaks out of words.
I hated that I remembered it. I hate that she is scared of me. Did she despise me that much?
