William startled me. I did not expect him to be so bold and challenging. My heart began to race.

 

“What if they both get mad at each other and do something they will regret?” I thought.

 

“Even worse,” my mind added. “What if my Dad pushes William to leave and I will never see him again?”

 

My Dad frowned at him and said, “What do you want William? you have already tricked my daughter into falling in love with you now you want to claim that you two are meant to be? You two are mates?” he scoffed.

 

“Daddy…” I tried to intervene but he raised his hand...
