Eve sat at a table in a high-end coffee shop. The soft music in the background blended with the murmurs from the other tables. And the smell of brewing coffee hung in the atmosphere.
"Yeah." The man sitting across her laughed softly.
Eve fiddled with the straps of her handbag, unable to take her eyes off him. Why hadn't she recognized his voice during the phone call?
"How did you know my phone number, Mr. Hudson?"
"Is that the most important thing to ask? I thought you were here because of the information I have for you."
