Ethan's thundering voice from the other end made Eve lose her grip on the phone. Her phone slid down her hand and hit the car floor hard. 

She reached down for it with trembling hands and checked the screen. It was intact. But the call was disconnected. 

Did Ethan hang up? 

Eve shuddered again. The tone of his voice still sent tremors down her nerves. What did she do this time? Was she in trouble? 

"Ma'am, what is your destination?" The taxi driver asked.
