I looked at them guiltily. The two of them had spent the whole afternoon with me yesterday and had made so much effort with me that they were now probably furious with me. And rightly so.
I couldn't blame them, so I replied quietly and dejectedly, "Hi girls. I'm sorry, but I have to wear this uniform because I'm practically one of the employees today."
