I slowly came to my senses again.

It felt like I was waking up from a nightmare and my head was spinning with thoughts.

But I didn't want to and couldn't deal with them right now.

I was too afraid of being pulled back into the dark abyss and perhaps not being able to get out again this time.

All the sensory impressions from which I had shielded myself now literally overwhelmed me.

The bright light of the kitchen lamp, the quiet hum of the refrigerator. The faint smell of food hanging in the air, overshadowed by the overpowering, delicious smell of the triplets.

Above all, Blake's scent.
