For the first time in forever, I laughed.
A real laugh. Loud, unrestrained, and kind of ridiculous.
Kael had just tried, and failed, to catch a falling moon petal in his mouth, swearing it was a secret tradition to “secure good luck in love.”
I nearly doubled over as he spat a petal out dramatically. “Okay, maybe that’s not actually a thing.”
“You made it up,” I accused, still giggling.
