Veronica's POV

It was the end of the month, and I wasn't expecting an inflow of cash from any source apart from my company. But when my phone beeped, I checked it out to see if it was the address I was expecting from Darwin.

My jaw dropped, and my eyes widened in awe beholding the message alert from my bank. 

“An alert?!” I echoed, and as my eyes schemed through the text, the sender was anonymous. Just like the alert I received in the previous month. 

This was a mystery that was left unsolved and then, again, the mystery blared at my face with precision. 

“Eight hundred billion dollars!”...
