Darwin had wanted to go back to the site we had found Veronica’s car, and it was all Jed and myself could do to stop him from at least going that night.

“Tomorrow, I’m heading out tomorrow and you won’t stop me.” He had said.

We tried to warn him about the defense that must have been put up now that Veronica’s car had been moved, but he had made his mind and not even the Calvary would have been able to stop him.
