I grip the paper tight with both hands as the horrifying words stare back at me. The Council's emblem sits proudly at the top left side of the Order, proving its authenticity.

"It's fake," I mumble. “Please, let it be fake.”

I run my thumb carelessly across the surface of the Council's emblem. It is smooth and glossy like all the ones I've seen before.

The voice from yesterday's phone call echo in my head ‘‘‘This is your final warning...’’’

The order states that I must go back to complete the stipulated days or give back nine times what they paid me.
