"Vera?!" Jack called as he entered Vera's kitchen.

He looked around because the lights were on. He stepped on her frying pan as he turned to go up the stairs. When he looked at the floor to see what he matched, he saw some red stains and mistook them for colored fluids.

He hurriedly ran upstairs to her room when he heard no noise, and there seemed to be no presence in the house at all. Jack hesitated before he pushed her bedroom door open and saw no one there.
