"It's a lie." An uncontrollable shudder swept through my entire body. "She can't..." I shook my head back and forth shakily, blinking rapidly. "You didn't sleep with her; she isn't pre..." I couldn't make a complete sentence as bile rose and burnt the back of my throat. The words weren't even aligning in my mind.

Kai held me from behind, his hands wrapping around me as if that would keep the pressure in my chest from increasing. "How could you?" Maribel asked, the front of her foot connecting with Carter's midsection. "She's your mother's age mate. Did you even think about Delaney when you decided to impregnate Seraphina?"
