It’s a month since the near kidnapping of King and I find myself on a Monday in a coffee shop rather than at my job.
I sit by the window since I need air.
The coffee shop is empty with quiet music playing. The sound of the espresso machine, People whispering about things that don't have to do with kidnappings, ex-husbands, memory loss, or almost losing a child feels liberating to me.
I decide to dress casually today.
White loose-fitting cotton shirt. Sleeves rolled to elbows. Faded denim jeans. Brown sandals. Hair is in a ponytail. No makeup. Only lip balm.
