At the close of work, Evelyn walks out to the parking lot in a light mood. Aside from the fiasco with Louisa, she had quite a pleasant day.
Reaching her car, she opens her purse and reaches for the keys, humming a familiar tune.
She remembers the way Louisa is overburdening herself in order to escape her own personal troubles and she stops humming immediately, feeling worried about her friend.
“Life can be really exhausting,” She soliloquies, “but at least, the traffic is light this evening.” she concludes, smiling at her own little joke as she hits the road, on her way home.
