I felt awkward as both men stared at me blankly. What did they expect me to say?

Rafael broke the short silence, his gaze furious as he stared at Jack. With gritted teeth, he demanded, "Why did you tell her that I'm here?"

"I didn't. She thinks maybe you're cheating on her. I swore you're not though," Jack said sarcastically, his tone tinged with frustration.

I felt terrible. Why was I in this situation in the first place? I hadn't come here by myself!! I found myself here, and I didn't even know the reason yet.
