Her words spurred out like wild berries.
"Reject me," she had said like it was her favorite thing to say.
"Reject you?" I asked.
"Why?"
She smiled as she turned to face me. It seemed like a question she was dying to answer; a question she was so willing to let out of her mind.
"You really want to know why?" she asked, her face filled with an unreadable expression.
"Yes, Alexa," I said, "and if your reasons are good enough, I will reject you."
