Lisa had told me how everything played out with Alexa, and unfortunately, the potion didn't work.
Today was the D-day—the day that was going to determine a lot of fates here. And I wasn't going to let Hector succeed.
"Alexa," I said through our mind link. I had been keeping watch for any suspicious movements all through the night, and there were none. So I needed to find out if Alexa was okay.
"Hey, Nanny," her voice was joyful. I was almost tempted to ask if she was aware she could possibly die today.
