Malcolm's peaceful evening sleep was a bit shortlived as he laid on the bare forest floor. The obnoxious light shone by the flames illuminated brightly through his eyelids causing him to squirt his eyes a bit. As Malcolm tried forcing himself back to sleep, he couldn't make up of what the 'light show' was until he felt a slight wave of heat.

Thinking it was a fire outbreak, he quickly stood up from his lying position looking for Astella so they could escape. Standing up, he could observe that he was absolutely wrong about the fire incident as to seeing a startled Astella at a corner setting up a fireplace....
