Even though my first guess was right, the minute Kieran Ashford said Astella’s name every part of me screamed to break ranks and run to where she was. I grasped the stone of the tower parapet so tightly I thought I would break it under my hand, my green eyes locked on the battle far in the distance, where orange flames leapt among the trees.

"Alpha," Marcus's urgent voice sounded behind me, "The perimeter guards report movement. Something's coming this way."
