The party ended unceremoniously. Once it dawned on the guests that the alpha host wasn’t going to turn up to give the concluding speech, everyone began to leave, one by one.

Deaton left the party in a fit of anger. He was pissed that he had failed in accomplishing his mission. Once again, Annabella had managed to elude him.
