Why is he suddenly against the divorce when it’s clear we are done with each other, he has another woman now but he’s still against a divorce?

“What do you mean?” I asked him angrily. He stared at the paper for a while and handed it back to me. Liliana also looked shocked to see his reaction, this was the perfect time to end the rubbish both of us once shared and now he’s against it,

“Kaylee.” Dad called me. “I’ll be there in a minute, dad.” I replied almost immediately. Daniel chuckled when he heard what I said.

“Why didn’t you tell me the truth about you? Were you waiting till we get divorced before you tell me the truth about who you are?” Daniel asked, I could see the pain in his eyes, the feeling of a big loss was clear in his eyes, which gave me the satisfaction I craved so badly.

“Did I tell you to cheat? Did I tell you to get another woman pregnant and kick me out of the house? I did not do this so why am I the one getting all this talk?” I asked him angrily.

I turned to look at Liliana and as usual she had that smug look, feeling like the best thing in the world has happened to her.

“Thanks for picking up my trash.” I said to her and walked away. She looked like she was going to strangle me in the presence of everyone before I walked away.

“Hey, Alicia.” I greeted a guest and gave her a warm hug. While I was talking to other guests each time I stole a glance at Daniel he was watching me.

Hayden walked towards me and gave me a warm hug. “Were you able to do as we planned?” Hayden asked. We both headed into the house ahd sat on the couch.

“That guy is the worst thing that has happened to me, he refused to sign the divorce paper.” Hayden was also shocked to hear what I said.

“I had the same look on my face when I heard him say no.” I said to Hayden.

“He’s really a thorn in the flesh, how is he suddenly against a divorce when he ruined the marriage first, was this not supposed to be a good thing for him?” Hayden said still really shocked by Daniel’s rejection.

“I really don’t know what to do.” I said to him and placed my hand on my head tiredly still very confused on what move to make at this point.

“We need to come up with a plan as soon as possible.” Hayden said to me and stood up to go continue from where he stopped with the guest he wanted to meet with.

I was left all alone in the sitting room. Then I recollected the look on his face when I handed the divorce papers to him. I could sense the feeling of regret as he gazed at the paper for a while.

“You know you don’t need to beat yourself too much just because you want to get back at me.” I turned to look at the person talking. I can’t believe he has the balls to come into my father’s house.

“What makes you think you have the right to walk in here?” I asked him angrily. I looked around and there was no one close, I suddenly started feeling scared because I don’t know what he can do.

“Hate it or not, I’m still your husband Kaylee and I have every right to walk in here.” He said angrily. From the way he was talking I knew he already had too much to drink.

“Are you drunk?” I asked him while closing my nose because he was drunk. It was so bad that I couldn't speak to him without closing my nose.

“Daniel you got what you wanted already, why don’t you stay away from me and live with the woman you love.” I said to him angrily and was about to walk away when he held my hand firmly. I tried releasing myself from his grip but it was too tight for me to handle.

“Let go of me Daniel.” I said to him, still struggling to release my hand.

“I told you already not to ever walk out on me like that, do you think anything has changed because there’s a new woman?” Daniel asked. His voice and his face was very scary, so scary that I couldn’t look at his face anymore. He looked desperate and was ready to do anything at this moment.

“Do you really think you have anything on me right now? Every moment I lived with you all through our marriage was a nightmare I don’t want to ever have, you and your mom are just so evil.” I said to him angrily. I was trying to get a grip of my emotions but he kept pushing me to say what was on my mind.

“How dare you.” He raised his hand to hit me when a heavy ouch landed on his face. He let go of my hand immediately.

While on the floor he left his hand on the cheek that was punched. “Who are you?” Daniel asked. Lilian also walked inside to help him up but he pushed her away,

She shamelessly stood up and picked her bag while Daniel struggled to stab up by himself.

I stood beside Hayden with my hands folded around my chest. “You know you will never change. I curse the day we crossed paths.” I spat angrily.

Hayden ordered the security to kick him out of the house. While they were dragging him out Lilian looked like she was about to cry. I took some steps closer to her and stopped when I got to her side.

She turned to look at me angrily, I could tell what her eyes were saying.

“He was once in love with me too.” I whispered to her and she walked away.

The moment she walked away reality hit me really hard, I still can’t believe I wasted so many years with a man that doesn’t give a fuck about me anymore.

“Are you okay?” Hayden asked. I nodded my head.

“I need some time alone.” I said to him and headed to the room. While I was walking upstairs I recollected some of the moments we spent happily. He used to be so happy to stay with me, even when his mother treated me badly sometimes, he stood by me and made sure I didn’t feel bad.

“Where did it all go wrong?” I asked myself and shut the door gently. Then going back to when he walked into the house with Lilian by his side, he was too cold, he looked very different from the person I knew.

I sat on the bed and heaved a sigh, after today I realized there was nothing worth fighting for, maybe I should be grateful because if he hadn’t brought in another woman I would still be in the same house with Hope enduring every humiliating moment.

While I was trying to get myself I heard a knock on the door. “Are you asleep already?” He asked from outside the room.

“You can come in dad.” I said to him without wasting any time he opened the door and walked into the room with a bright smile on his face.

“Were you so tired that you couldn’t say goodbye to the guests, you left this old man to do everything.” My dad said to me while he was sitting on the bed. A soft smile escaped my lips and I rested my head on his shoulder.

“Did he lay his hands on you?” Dad asked.

“He wouldn’t dare.” I replied to him almost immediately.

“Did you give him the divorce paper?”

“He refused to sign it.” My dad was also shocked to hear what I said.

“Why? Isn’t that what he wanted?”

“Yes, until he found out I’m your daughter.” I said to him and raised my head from his shoulder.

“That son of a ***ch.” Dad said angrily. I could tell he was very upset and I didn’t want him to be too bothered about the whole Daniel thing.

“Don’t worry dad, your daughter got this, " I said to him with a bright smile on his face. Even if I lost Daniel I got my dad back.

It was getting late and I already had my shower, I needed to sleep early so that I could visit the company tomorrow.

I dropped my phone on the table beside me and was about to lay on the bed when I heard the phone ring.

“Who could it be?” I asked myself and checked the number calling. It was an unknown number so I decided to pick it.

“Hello Kaylee.” I opened my eyes wider than normal because I could recognize the voice immediately.

“How dare you?” I asked angrily.
