I increased my pace, leaving Emrys behind, adrenaline surging through my veins as I sprinted up the hill to the castle. My muscles burned.

Emrys caught up with me in an instant.

“Turn left,” he called out, effortlessly jogging beside me. When I finally reached the driveway, I stopped, gasping for breath, my lungs burning like fire. Emrys looked fresh as a daisy, not even a hint of sweat on his brow.

“That was a long jog,” I exhaled, bent over with my hands on my knees.

“It wasn’t that long. You really need to work on your stamina,” he said. He was right, I needed to start training.
