Then Ethan leaned back slightly in the chair. "You missed me."

CRACK!

The slap cracked across the room so hard his head snapped sideways.

Silence followed immediately.

Blood appeared slowly at the corner of Ethan's mouth.

But then he laughed. Actually fucking laughed.

"You always hit harder when you're emotional."

I grabbed his jaw instantly and forced him to look at me.

"You murdered people you bastard."

His eyes darkened slightly.

"You betrayed your friends for me."

Silence.

"You manipulated my entire life."

Ethan stared at me quietly now.

"You let me think I was crazy while you controlled everything around me."

His jaw tightened beneath my grip....
