My body was already starting to feel weak.

At first the bite had only made my heart race, but now every second felt heavier. Gunnar was still holding me tightly against him and his fangs were still buried deep in my neck. I could feel the steady pull of my blood leaving my body.

It was not slowing down. It was not stopping.

My fingers were gripping his shirt so tightly that my hands were shaking, but I barely had the strength to hold on anymore.
