Cane's POV

The moment I entered the underground hallway, I already knew something had happened.

The guards standing outside Daphne's cell looked tense. Two of them had blood on their faces. One of them was holding his side like he had gotten hit hard.

Then I saw Sebastian.

He was on the floor.

One knee down. One hand pressed against the ground, breathing heavily.

For a second, nobody spoke.

The guards immediately straightened when they saw me.
