Gunnar's POV

The moment I heard the footsteps outside the room, I immediately grabbed the waistband of my trousers and pulled them back up properly. 

My chest still felt hot from the poison burning through my body, but right now that wasn't what mattered.

Summer stepped into the room slowly. The second I saw her, my eyes immediately moved to my mother.

"Why did you bring her here?" I asked sharply.

Amelia didn't answer me. Instead, she stepped aside quietly and let Summer walk fully into the room.

The atmosphere changed immediately.
