I could only loom around completely dumbfounded. I allowed him to guide me to the table lit by a single candle. A small picnic basket sat in the middle.
All of this seemed so surreal.
He'd done all this for me?
"How-why?" I stuttered over my words, trying to get some sort of explanation.
His gaze trained on me from across the table. "I wanted to make you happy. And looking at your reaction right now, it was totally worth it."
My eyes widened.
Why was he doing this?
Why now?
His voice interrupted my thoughts. "Stop questioning everything. Stop thinking so much."
I sighed. "I can't do that."...
