I was not in a cold war. However, my mother locked her mouth and I just dived into my own thoughts. Only forks, knives and plates created the sounds in this quiet cool dining room. I threw a glance at my mother once in a while. She was physically with me yet her mind might travel somewhere to the place I couldn’t think of.
