In the cafe.
Jacques and Daisy sat, while Cecelia and Damon stood to the side, forming a semi-circle and gazing at Mike, who was kneeling in the middle of the cafe.
Damon preempted: "Alpha, since this traitor will not confess, I beg your permission to torture him!"
In a panic, Cecelia picked at the hem of Damon's dress try to stop him. But he ignored it.
Cecelia looked at what Damon was holding. It's a brand new chef knife.
Mike looked sideways at Damon's knife and laughed. "Damon, are you going to use the knife I gave you as a torture device?"
Jacques shook his head and said, "Damon, you're not an adult. It's not something you should get involved in."
"Alpha, I..."
"Are you questioning my authority?"
Damon tried to fight again, but he was so pressured that he immediately folded his mouth into a line. But Cecelia could see clearly that the red glint of blood in his eyes had become more vivid.
Jacques looked at Mike and asked, "Mike, have you been in Burgundy Pack for a long time? Seventeen years and six months, if memory serves."
Mike opened his mouth in amazement and nodded gently.
"Alpha remembered so well. That's right. It’s 17 years, six months and five days."
Jacques sighed. "That’s surprised. I always thought you were having a great time at Burgundy Pack. I didn't know until today, but it's been a long time."
Mike can tell the exact time of his arrival in Burgundy Pack off the top of his head, and over the years, he's definitely been counting the days. If he's happy, why should he be?
Mike smiled ruefully: "Dear Alpha, I'm really happy in Burgundy Pack. But who doesn't miss his hometown?"
The words stung Cecelia like a thorn.
"Come clean, you heartless traitor, who are you working for? Are you sent by Nathan? Are you targeting my mother and me? Or I'll never forgive you!"
Jacques raised his left hand, interrupting Damon's rant.
"All I can say is, I have no ill will toward Cecelia and Damon. As for the rest..."
"Shameless traitor, do you think you can fool us? I'm going to use this knife to pry your mouth open!"
Damon slurped and raised his knife as if to stab Mike.
"Damon!" Cecelia cried out anxiously.
"Damon, don't make me warn you twice."
Jacques growled without looking at Damon. Damon pauses, then finally put his knife down.
Cecelia clapped her hand over her heart and sighed. She's afraid to visit Damon again. There's something about Damon that's both familiar and unfamiliar.
"Mike, you know, I can make you talk if I want to."
Jacques is right. Mike is nothing more than an omega, unable to resist the power of Alpha Tone.
Mike smiled sadly and said, "Honorable Alpha, I'm afraid you can't."
"Mike, what do you mean?"
Jacques flexed his right hand. He is a generous and merciful man, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a temper. As the Alpha of Burgundy Pack, his dignity and face matter to the dignity and safety of the tribe.
What's more, Mike is a spy from Silver Moon Pack and a traitor.
Mike didn't speak. Instead, he raised his chin slightly and stuck out his tongue.
Jacques just took one look at Mike's tongue and his eyes widened in surprise.
At the base of Mike's tongue, there's a zipper shaped scar, black, and it looks weird.
“A curse-marks!”
Jacques gritted his teeth, his face livid.
"Mike, you were enchanted by a witch? So you can't tell the truth?"
Mike acquiesced with a sad smile.
Jacques jumped to his feet, his fists clenched and his veins bulging.
“A witch!”
Jacques began to pace up and down the cafe. Everyone held their breath and waited for him to speak.
"Mike."
As if making up his mind, Jacques stopped and looked directly at Mike.
"As long as you openly admit that you were victimized by a witch to make you a scout in Burgundy Pack, I'll forgive you. I will also write to the Alpha at Silver Moon Pack to try to take you back and help us catch the witch who did this to you."
"Alpha!"
Damon couldn't resist interrupting, and this time Cecelia stopped Jacques before he could finish his drink.
"Damon, shut up! This was a decision made by the honorable Alpha of Burgundy Pack and you should not butt in!"
"Yes, mother."
Damon said yes, but between his eyebrows, there's no denying it.
"Mike, come in. I'm only going to give you one chance."
Jacques walked over to Mike and looked down at him.
Mike was silent for a moment, then looked up, his eyes glaring at Jacques.
"Honorable Alpha, thank you for your kindness. But I wasn't be compelled. I wanted to be. I would never betray my master for my life."
Jacques closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He really didn't want to go this far.
"Daisy, get my Crescent Sword."
Daisy was stunned, but without saying a word, she walked quickly out of the cafe. After a while she returned with a fine cherry-wood box in her hand.
Daisy put it down on the table and slowly lifted the lid.
Cecelia and Damon unconsciously raise their hands to shield their eyes from a blinding silver flash.
The silver light faded and revealed its true face.
Inside the cherry-wood box with a thick velvet cushion, a silver cutlass with a copper handle lay.
Silver, the natural enemy of werewolf. If they touch sterling silver, even the most powerful werewolf will get burned.
The wood-handled silver knife, presumably, was Alpha Jacques's Crescent Sword.
Crescent Sword of each Pack is handed down from Alpha to Alpha. It is engraved with its own pattern, representing their revered status. As long as they hurt their opponent, they will be scarred for life. More importantly, the shape of the wounds matches the distinctive markings on the Crescent Sword. Anyone can trace the scar left on the werewolf by the Crescent Sword back to the man who stabbed him, as if for the rest of their lives they had been defeated.
Jacques brought out the Crescent Sword to formally sentence Mike in the name of Alpha.
Jacques lifted the Crescent Sword out of its cherry wooden box and held it upright in front of him, covering one side of his face.
The cold body of the knife reflected one side of Jacques' face, serious and vicissitudes. Mike's face reflected on the other side was calm and relaxed.
"Mike Miller, I, Jacques Burgundy, in the name of the Alpha of Burgundy Pack, commit the 'sin of deception', punishable by beheading your hands. Do you have any objection?"
Mike simply shook his head.
"I have no objection!”
With those words, Jacques unleashed a knife that spilled blood.
Until Mike’s right hand was cut to the ground, his screamed, only to be heard throughout the cafe.
"It's over. Mike Miller, now get out of Burgundy Pack. I'll send Omega to watch you pack, so you can only take the simplest clothes, nothing else. From now on, no one in Burgundy Pack will associate with you, the outcast!"
Mike struggled to his feet. His face was miserable, his lip bloody, and he was obviously in great pain.
He managed to bend slightly to Jacques and Daisy. At the end of the day, he took a look at Cecelia and Damon, then threw her shoulder down the cafe door and stumbled away.
Jacques sat down, put his hands on his knees, sighed, and looked at Cecelia.
"Cecelia, I'm sorry for the mess I made in your clean coffee shop."
Cecelia shook her head slightly and laughed. "Alpha, don't say that. It's just another sweep. It's not difficult."
Damon interrupted, "Exalted Alpha, Luna, and mother, since I have nothing to do here, I'm going to go. I just remembered I had a date."
"Date?"
Cecelia's eyes lit up. "With whom?" she asked.
Jacques and Daisy looked at each other and smiled back. They also don't want Damon, at a young age, to get sucked into adult relationships. Now to see him so quickly away from the things just now, naturally is very gratifying.
Damon won't say much. "Just a date, nothing special. Alpha, Luna, mother, goodbye."
With that, Damon turned and walked away.
Cecelia quickly apologized.
"Alpha, Luna, I'm sorry. Damon is being rude. Please let it go."
Jacques waved his hand.
"It's all right, Cecelia. It's natural for Damon, a young man in his prime, to be upset when he learned that a spy from Silver Moon Pack has been living with you and your son on a pretender. That shows he loves you as a son, doesn't it? '
Cecelia heard, also cannot help but warm heart, nodded.
Indeed. She's panicked and scared by what Damon had just done, but at the end of the day, what he's doing is protecting her.
There is not a mother who will not be moved by the deep love of her son.
"But Cecelia, don't you think there's something strange about it?"
Jacques piped up. Cecelia's heart, relaxed at first, was tense again.
"Strange?”
"Cecelia, how long have you been in Burgundy Pack?"
