ROOSEVELT’S POV
I saw Zyran across the cafe with Elena. He smiled at her while pouring her wine. He played his cold, detached game perfectly.
I took a deep breath and wiped a tear from my cheek.
If he wants to play this game, I thought, my heart turning cold, then I will play it better.
I turned away from his table and looked directly at Mateo. I gave him a bright smile.
"You are right, Mateo," I said softly. "He is choosing someone else. And I am done crying over a man who doesn't want me."
