I was still recovering from the shock of the whole thing that had transpired in the penitentiary when I had gone for my usual visit to see Charles.

It didn't take a genius to know that someone had sent and had masterminded the attack on my life. It was the one thing I was sure of at that very moment. Every other thing was jumbled up.
