Veronica placed a call to the news office were I worked and demanded to speak with the editor-in-chief ,Charles . Someone had answered the call instead and she was told he wasn't in the office .She asked if she could reach out to him in anyway as the reason for the call was urgent and important.

But she was told that he had left the country for a wedding ,

Charles had travelled out of the country for marriage occasion .

That look of a lost hope quickly grabbed me. I wasn't sure anymore if I could escape this time around.
