#Chapter4

Claire:

It's nearly seven P.M meaning my work hours are over. I walked into the staff room to get my things and went out, walking towards the bus terminal.

I took out my wallet so I could pay the bus with my only twenty-dollar bill that I had left, But when I went through it I couldn't find any money.

I should've never kept my purse in the staff room, someone must have stolen it.

I was too tired from cleaning and serving for twelve hours without any breaks -courtesy of my manager- to walk home, but I had no other options.

As I started walking home my head started spinning, tears automatically started flowing down my cheeks. But I ignored it and composed my posture as I kept on walking, my legs began slowly giving out.

Zachary

When I reached at where she worked, I noticed that she had already gone so I decided to go back home. Too much for seeing her.

As I drove to the Main Street I saw a girl stumbling on the foot path and much to my surprise , when I took a closer look I saw it was none other than Claire. The hell is she doing walking?!!

I quickly stopped my car at the side and made my way towards her, I was nearly there when I saw her loose her balance. I quickly ran towards her just in time to catch her from falling.

She fell into my arms but she wasn't unconscious, I saw the tears on her cheek and it angered me as well as it pained me to see her cry. She massages her temples indicating she was having a headache.

"Oh. I am so sorry, I didn't mean to fall on you..." She said without looking at me. Standing but not completely on her own balance, she clutched on to my shoulder and I steadied her holding her from her waist.

"Zac, it's you." She said a bit surprised as her gaze landed on me.

"Yes darling, it's me. Now I can see you can't walk , you can't even stand on your own." I stated as I lifted her up bridal style, cradling her to my chest. She is so small, it's like I am carrying a pixie.

"Oh no Zac! It's okay, you don't have to-" She said, god why does she have to be so stubborn. Can't she look at herself! She can't even stand, how can she say it's okay.

"Darling please, keep your pretty little mouth shut and don't argue with me," She instantly obeyed.

I opened my car door and sat her inside turning the heater up for her. It angers me a lot to see her in a state like this.

"Now Claire, tell me what just happened there. Causing you to collapse, did you even eat something? And why in the world were you walking home!?" I almost yelled.

"No...though I was given food my manager didn't let me have a break. I had to work 12 hours continuously, I guess that's why I almost fainted. I was walking home because someone stole my money." She muttered playing with her fingers looking down and looking so damn innocent.

I'm gonna have to give that manager lady a piece of my handy work.

"Well, we're gonna have something to eat first. So what would you like?" I asked.

" McDonald's!" she beamed but instantly shut her mouth with both her hands.

"Where are my manners!" I heard her grumble under her breath and I chuckled.

"No Zac it's fine I'll just manage myself-" I cut her off before she could finish.

"We're going to McDonald's, and that's final." I said and started the car heading towards our destination.

"But I don't have any money to pay." I snorted. She doesn't have to pay for anything when she's with me.

"Tesoro don't worry about it."

(Tesoro means treasure / his treasure )

We soon came to a halt in front of McDonald's and I opened the door for her to get out and supported her so she doesn't lose her balance again and wrapped an arm around her waist where it should always be , she fit so perfectly , I always want to keep her like this and this wish of mine will soon come true .

We walked into McDonald's and headed towards the counter table .

" so what would you like darling ? " I asked her and she tapped her finger on her chin as if thinking while she went through the menu making me smile .

While she was going through the menu oblivious to her surroundings I saw the cashier eyeing her shamelessly and it boiled my blood , I instinctively wrapped an arm around her and the cashier looked up and as soon as his gaze fell on me I glared at him and he gulped moving his gaze away from my Tesero .

" I would like a chicken cheeseburger with fries " she said in her sweet angelic voice oblivious to the tense atmosphere around her .

" as you wish darling " I said smiling at her and she smiled back making my heart swell .

" hey, you heard her a chicken cheeseburger with fries " I said coldly to the pervert cashier and he nodded .

" you aren't having anything ?" Claire asked me and I shook my head

" no baby , I am full " I said and I looked at her bit shocked faced I am guessing it's because I called her baby but I don't mind at all .

" here is your receipt madam " he said and before I could take the receipt Claire brought her hand forward to take it and that bastard brushed his finger along her hand while giving the receipt and that angered me a whole lot more but I didn't want to show it with Claire standing there because she'll get scared and I don't want that .

" Darling go and have a seat I'll be right back " I said and she nodded walking towards an empty table at the corner .

I turned towards the cashier and saw him gulping and that scared look was priceless , again I live for these looks .I grabbed him by his collar lifting him up from the other side of the counter , he was quite short ,compared to me he looked like 5'9 seeming more vulnerable .

" now next time don't even set your bloody perverted eyes on my girl , you're lucky I am with her today or this would've been the last day for you over here flipping patties and clipping orders " I said in a cold , dangerous but low tone and he nodded .

" I....I....I am ..s..sorry s..s..sir " he said stuttering pathetically and I left him .

By the time the order had also came and I took the tray walking towards the table where Claire sat after paying for the meal .

" hey darling here you go , now dig in " I said and she smiled

The whole time I stared at her eating and believe me I can stare at her all day and I wouldn't get enough of her .

" ummm ....... Would you like some fries ?" She asked offering some fries to me and I took advantage of it

" only if you would like to give me some " I said and opened my mouth for her to feed me .

She hesitated first but took one of the fries in her hand and fed it to me during which I pursed her finger between my lips but she instantly took it away and I couldn't help but smirk at how innocent she is.

" are you done darling ?" I asked her as she was wiping her hands from the tissue

" oh yeah I am done " she said

" anything for desert sweetheart ?" I asked and she shook her head

" oh no I am so full " she said rubbing her tummy making me chuckle

" not even ice cream " I asked

" uh huh nope " she said

" ok then let's go get you home " I said

I got up helping her up too and wrapped an arm around her and walked out towards the car .

The whole drive to her home was silent except she told me where her apartment was though I already knew but other than that it was silence as my gas detected everything and me driving but it wants that tense silence it was a peace full silence and to make it more peaceful my car was now filled with her scent of strawberry and lichees which was heavenly to breathe in .

Soon her apartment building came up in view and I stopped the car in front of the entrance .

" Zac I don't know how to thank you for all you have done for me today , I can't even repay you back " she said

" who said anything about repaying darling but just don't forget to google what I told you "I said caressing her cheek and she nodded

Her hand reached for the door but she stopped and turned around and kissed me on my cheek and it took everything in me to not bring her on my lap and kiss her senseless .

I looked at her and saw her blushing furiously

" bye Zac goodnight and thank you " she said

" bye darling Buena’s noches( good night ) take care " I said and watched her get out of the car and towards her apartment .

I would do anything for her , kill for her and die for her .
