The world is hazy around me. All I see is Cesare; it feels like there is no one else, nothing else but the two of us.

I’m not even aware Cesare picked me up until he slowly slides me down his body. My legs threaten to buckle; I cling to him to stay standing. He understands, and his hands are gentle on my waist. When I can stand he brushes his lips across mine. “Stay right here. I’ll be back in two minutes.”
