I spoke through gritted teeth, "He poured my daughter's ashes down the drain."

Matt struggled to speak. "Officer, don't believe her. The ashes are fake! Our daughter isn't dead!"

The officer, listening to this, asked me, "Did your husband do this because of some kind of trauma?"
