That was the diagnosis. After Maddie and I talked to Blakely’s doctor, I felt like the whole world fell to me. I felt guilty about what happened. I blamed myself for it. She was at a high level of stress and the head trauma triggered the high cause of amnesia.

“Are you okay?” Maddie joined me on the waiting bench outside Blakely’s room.
