The next morning, I woke up to find the king staring at me.

"Good morning, mate," he smiled. "Hope you slept peacefully?"

He was so strikingly handsome when he smiled like that. I couldn't help the heat crawling up my cheeks and how rapid my heartbeat became.

It had to be because of our proximity. He was leaning in too close to me. It was excitingly suffocating.
