Chapter Thirty-six. They got what they deserved.

Ivanna's POV

"I don't need anything from you. You're awake now, and I want you to eat. That's all. Here." He passed the food to me, with a warm smile that almost melted my heart.

I hesitated, warning myself not to get deceived by his acts. He was still the monster that wiped off a whole Pack. It wouldn't be easy to erase that from my memory.

"Please?"

"Thank you," I took the food with unsure, shaky hands. "Are you sure this food wasn’t poisonous?"

"Yes," he sighed. "You should start eating."

After much contemplation, I couldn't resist the aroma of the food...
