"Monster!" She yelled, snatching her hands violently from my grip.

Her outburst was sudden and subtly cruel. I was taken aback by it. This wasn't the first time I was being called a monster, but the way she said it, hearing it from her altogether, it kinda hurt.

I had fantasized a lot about our meeting but I never imagined it would be this horrible. Nothing prepared me for this kind of reaction from her. No one gave me a heads-up. That was why it took me a couple of minutes to think of a suitable reaction.
