Mary attempted to run off, but the king caught her.

"And where do you think you're going?" He threw her at my feet.

Mary held my leg desperately, bawling her eyes out. "Please forgive me, Ivanna. I was wrong. I shouldn't have been so cruel to you. I should have told you the truth. I was just too scared of Alpha Dean. Please…"
