"No one." I looked away shyly, refusing to look into his eyes.

Remembering the dream sent a quick spasm between my legs. I brushed it off. This wasn't the time to harbor such thoughts.

"You can't say?" he asked.

"Yes," I replied. "I can’t say."

"It's fine. I'm not gonna insist." His lashes fell in disappointment. I had to think of something to say to make him feel better.

"But just know that I wasn't thinking of my ex-mate or any other guy," I reassured. It would help a lot if I could admit that it was him on my mind that day.
