Noah didn't move.

His gaze shifted to the man holding me, and something in his expression made my blood run cold.

It was the look of a predator deciding exactly how to kill its prey.

The other two robbers had already emptied the cash register, stuffing bills into their duffel bag. They moved to the terrified customers, snatching phones and jewelry with rough efficiency.

One of them reached Nicole.

"Bitch! Your f*cking phone, jewelry! Now!" he barked.

Nicole's hands trembled as she continued to pull off her earrings, her bracelet, fumbling with the clasp of her necklace.
