The man standing there was tall, broad-shouldered, blond hair neatly combed back. Crisp shirt. Tailored trousers. His gaze was fixed on me, sharp, assessing and something about him tugged at my memory. Familiar, yet just out of reach.
Then Chloe spoke.

She rushed forward and threw her arms around him. He hugged her back easily, her body pressing close, her legs nearly wrapping around his waist.
