Jayden's POV

She seemed baffled by something even as she slept. Her face would crease in a frown and she would sometimes call out my name or her mom's. 

It was a harder time for me as the doctors did their thing, because despite the injections and all, there seemed to be no improvement in her state. 

"Maybe you should call her mom too?" One of the nurses attending to her at home said and I frowned. 

While that made sense, her mother was still a thorn on our flesh and I hadn't seen her since I carried Chloe out of the wedding hall.
